Brandon’s Musings : From the Executive Director’s Desk

As we embark on a new month, I’m thrilled to share some highlights from my recent engagements within the industry.

Firstly, I had the privilege of representing our association at the Cargo Network Services Conference (CNS) in Dallas. During the welcoming address, I presented our members’ perspective to an audience of over 700 attendees. The conference delved into crucial topics such as digitalization, sustainability, and cargo security, which are pivotal in shaping the future landscape of our industry.

Following CNS, I traveled to the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association’s (CIFFA) 75th Anniversary event in Toronto. It was an honor to join esteemed industry leaders on a panel discussion focusing on issues concerning U.S. forwarders. From excess regulation to geopolitical tensions, we explored a myriad of challenges impacting our industry’s global operations.

Our commitment to international outreach remains unwavering. Events like the International Federation of Freight Forwarding Associations (FIATA) Headquarters Meeting in Geneva, which I attended last week, provide us with invaluable opportunities to share our member perspective on a global scale. As many of our members expand globally, our involvement in international discussions ensures their voices are heard and their interests are represented.

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for May 13th, when we have an upcoming fireside chat with the new TSA Air Cargo Division Director. This promises to be an insightful discussion, offering invaluable insights into the future direction of air cargo security.

Additionally, we anticipate changes to the Indirect Air Carrier program language and an advisory meeting at TSA headquarters later this month. Furthermore, stay tuned for another exciting technology webinar as we continue to explore innovative solutions to industry challenges.

I encourage you to join one of our many committees in our association. Your participation is instrumental in shaping the future of our industry.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and I eagerly anticipate connecting with you all soon.

Warm regards,

Brandon Fried
