Washington D.C., United States, Wednesday July 8th 2026: The Airforwarders Association (AfA) regrets the resumption of hostilities between the United States and Iran, which risks renewed disruption for consumers and businesses in the United States, and for the wider global economy.
The air cargo industry must again step up to bolster supply chain resilience amid the uncertainty caused by the conflict.
We are concerned that renewed instability will add further pressure to fuel prices, operating costs, routing decisions, and time critical cargo movements.
The priority now must be to provide a route back to stable and predictable global trade, and the AfA calls on policymakers to engage directly with industry partners to assess and mitigate the impact on vital supply chains.
